Amy Cassello (General Manager) was the Managing Director of Doug Elkins Dance Company from 1992-2001, Executive Director of Urban Bush Women from 2002-2009, and for 2010, Director of Institutional Support at Dance Theater Workshop. In addition to producing Fräulein Maria, she continues in the role of General Manager for 2-time BESSIE Award winning choreographer Nora Chipaumire. Amy is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College.
Anne Davison (Dramaturg, Mo(or)town Redux) is a New York-based freelance dramaturg who also works extensively in TV/film casting. She is an artistic associate of the Obie Award-winning theater company Les Freres Corbusier and has dramaturged several of their productions, most recently Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman’s Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Public Theater and Broadway). Recent dance dramaturgy includes Jane Comfort’s Beauty. She has an MFA in Dramaturgy & Dramatic Criticism from the Yale School of Drama.
Alexander Dones (Performer, Mo(or)town/Redux) is a native of Portland, Oregon, and has been dancing since the day he can remember. He trained and performed internationally with the acclaimed Jefferson Dancers under the direction of Steve Gonzales, as well as many other dance schools in the city. At the age of 18 he relocated to New York with no plan and soon joined MOMIX Dance Theatre under the direction of Moses Pendleton. Since then has danced with many notable companies including Luna Negra Dance Theatre in Chicago (Eduardo Vilaro, Artistic Director) and NorthWest Dance Project in Portland (Sarah Slipper, Artistic Director). He is also a choreographer and teacher in his own right, currently working to establish a new collaborative arts entity known as storytellers.
Mark Gindick (Performer, Joyce Soho Residency) is a professional actor, clown, physical comedian, director and teacher. This fall, he’s performing his one-man piece Wing-Man at the Brick Theater and the United Solo Festival, www.unitedsolo.org. Film: Julie & Julia with Meryl Streep. Television: Letterman and Conan O’Brien, featured in the PBS mini-series documentary CIRCUS. Mikéah Ernest Jennings (Performer, Joyce Soho Residency) is an art theater and performance creator living in New York since 2001. Interested mainly in the inutility of the 4th wall he collaborates with artists who reframe the convention as way to observe the performance of the audience as an equally vital component of the theatrical ritual. Justin Levine (Music Director, Mo(or)town/Redux) works as a composer, writer and performer in and around New York City. Most recently, he served as Musical Director and performer in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson on Broadway. He is currently MD for an adaptation of Like Water for Chocolate which will be playing at the Arena Stage in DC this fall. His current composing projects include Bonfire Night, for which he wrote book, music and lyrics, as well as a musical based on the life of Madam C.J. Walker, which has been commissioned by Naked Angels. When not working on theater, Justin plays with the Clinton Curtis Band all over the northeast. He lives in Brooklyn.
Deborah Lohse (Performer, Joyce Soho residency) is a New York City-based performer, choreographer and video artist. She is the Artistic Director of ad hoc ballet which has performed at Synod House at St. John the Divine, the Clark Theater at Lincoln Center, the 92nd Street Y, West End Theater, and Joe’s Pub. As a performer she has worked primarily with Doug Elkins and Monica Bill Barnes. In 2010, she began to work with film while continuing to create live performance work. www.adhocballet.com
Cori Marquis (Performer, Mo(or)town/Redux) graduated from Stanford University in 2008 with a BA in Psychology and Performing Arts. Professionally, Cori has had the pleasure of dancing with Hope Mohr, Liz Gerring, Kelley Donovan, Stephanie Liapis, Teri and Oliver Steele, Parijat Desai, Anabella Lenzu and Hee Ra Yoo. Cori’s own work has been presented in New York by the Loft, WAX, Movement Research, and the Amalgamate Artist Series, as well as at the Dance Complex in Boston.
Kyle Marshall (Performer, Mo(or)town/Redux) was raised in North Brunswick, NJ and received his BFA in dance from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. While in school, he received the Dance Express Choreographer’s Prize for his body of artistic work. Along with Doug Elkins, Kyle currently is working with Randy James, Lustig Dance Theatre, and Meagan Woods and Company. Kyle’s choreography has been shown at Dance New Jersey’s biannual “show up and dance” showcase and WAXworks in Brooklyn.
Donnell Oakley (Performer, Mo(or)town/Redux) grew up in Raleigh, NC and spent 15 influential years dancing under Lemma and Glenda Mackie at Arts Together. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography in 2001. Since moving to New York in 2002, Donnell has had her work produced by Joyce Soho, Triskelion Arts, Movement Research, and Dance New Amsterdam and had 6 extraordinary years with her collaborative company, everything smaller.
